Dan McCarthy

Dan McCarthy, President of the New York Peacemakers of the Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association, is a man of many talents.  Although he has thoroughly enjoyed being a musician, a teacher and a businessman, Dan's true passion is horsemanship.  Inspired by his love of horses, and influenced by Leslie Desmond. Dan has formulated a personal training philosophy based on years of experience. His approach to training horses, known as "natural horsemanship", can best be defined as the art of working, training and riding with horses in a manner that works with a horse's behavior, instincts and personality.  The learning environment is low-stress and emphasizes effective communication techniques that help each horse reach its fullest potential.  Dan believes that natural horsemanship is more like coaching than training.
